PSL Likely to Feature Two Additional Teams; Next Season Expected in April–May

Karachi: The **Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)** is planning to hold the next edition of the **Pakistan Super League (PSL 11)** in **April and May**, following Ramadan, with the **addition of two new teams** to the tournament.
According to sources, several issues between the **PSL franchises and the PCB** remain unresolved, and a formal meeting to discuss the next season has yet to take place.
The PSL cannot be staged in **February–March** next year due to the **ICC T20 World Cup**, which will be preceded by a **three-match T20 series between Pakistan and Australia**, followed by a **two-Test series against Bangladesh**.
After the World Cup and PSL, Pakistan will play a **three-match ODI series against Australia** and later tour **Bangladesh** and **Zimbabwe** for limited-overs fixtures, including three ODIs and three T20Is each.
Given the packed international schedule, the PCB is considering **April–May 2026** as the most suitable window for the next PSL season.
Meanwhile, the **Indian Premier League (IPL)** is set to take place from **March 15 to May 31**, which means that the two major leagues may **clash once again**, forcing several international players to choose between the two tournaments.
