World’s Tallest Bridge to Open in China’s Guizhou Province on September 28

GUIZHOU: China is set to inaugurate the world’s tallest bridge, the **Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge**, on **September 28**, in Guizhou province.
The bridge, built over the Huajiang River, stands at a staggering height of **625 meters** above the water. It stretches **2,890 meters** in total length, with a **main span of 1,420 meters**.
Upon its opening, the Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge will set two world records:
* The **tallest bridge in the world**.
* The **largest span bridge in a mountainous region**.
According to media reports, construction took nearly **three years** and cost approximately **$283 million**. The bridge’s height surpasses even that of the former **World Trade Center** in the United States.
