Court Directs FIA to Act According to Law in Case Against Former President Arif Alvi

Lahore: A Lahore sessions court has issued a written order in a case filed against former President Arif Alvi over the alleged use of derogatory language in a speech delivered abroad.
Additional Sessions Judge Shafqat Shehbaz Raja released the written verdict, directing the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to proceed in accordance with the law. The court stated that if any illegal act has been committed, legal action must be taken.
The petition was filed by Shehzada Adnan through his counsel, Advocate Muddasir Chaudhry, who argued that Arif Alvi used offensive language in his speech overseas. Despite submitting a request, FIA did not register a case. The petitioner had sought the court’s intervention for the registration of an FIR against the former president.
