Key Development on Direct Flights from Pakistan to US as FAA Team Arrives for Audit

ISLAMABAD: In a major development towards resuming direct flights from Pakistan to the United States, a team from the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) will arrive in Pakistan on September 6 for the first time in several years.
The Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) has completed preparations for the audit ahead of the team’s visit. The FAA delegation will review various sections of the PCAA, including licensing examinations, flight standards, airworthiness, and state safety oversight.
On the directives of the Director General CAA, all departments of the authority have finalized arrangements for the crucial audit.
The FAA’s visit is seen as an important step toward securing approval for direct flights between Pakistan and the US. The development has raised hopes for Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and other Pakistani carriers to resume direct services to the United States.
