New Monsoon System: Will Karachi Receive Rain? Met Office Issues Forecast

Karachi: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a forecast regarding the possibility of rainfall in Karachi under the influence of a new monsoon system.

According to the Met Office, a monsoon low-pressure area is currently located near the Indian state of Chhattisgarh. The system is moving west and northwest, and is expected to reach near Rajasthan and Gujarat by September 6 or 7.

Under its influence, southeastern Sindh is likely to receive rainfall from September 7, with chances of heavy showers accompanied by thunder.

The PMD further stated that a more definitive forecast about rain in Karachi will be made once the system approaches closer.
