Putin Invites PM Shehbaz Sharif to Visit Russia in November

Beijing: Russian President Vladimir Putin has extended an invitation to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to visit Russia in November, highlighting Moscow’s desire to strengthen bilateral ties with Pakistan.

The meeting between the two leaders took place in Beijing, where they warmly shook hands. President Putin expressed sympathy over the devastation caused by recent floods in Pakistan, saying, *“We value our relationship with Pakistan and hope the country successfully overcomes the challenges posed by natural disasters.”*

Putin emphasized Russia’s commitment to enhancing cooperation with Pakistan, particularly in trade and development.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in response, reaffirmed Pakistan’s interest in expanding bilateral trade and cooperation, stating, *“We are moving in the right direction. Pakistan and Russia have already signed protocols to boost collaboration in agriculture, energy, and transport. We seek stronger ties with Russia and greater trade opportunities.”*

He added that Pakistan remains committed to promoting peace, prosperity, and development in the region while strengthening its partnership with Russia.
