Massive Flood Wave Expected to Hit Multan by Evening, Over 300,000 People Evacuating

Multan:A dangerous **flood wave in the Chenab River** is expected to enter Multan by this evening, forcing the evacuation of more than **300,000 residents** from vulnerable areas. Authorities have decided to **breach Head Muhammad Wala** to protect urban settlements from inundation.

Locals, however, are voicing concerns over the **shortage of boats** and the lack of proper arrangements for relocating their livestock.

Meanwhile, near **Jalalpur Pirwala**, around **50,000 cusecs of water** is passing through the Sutlej River, impacting at least **140 villages**. In **Rajanpur**, residents of low-lying areas have already moved to safer places amid high flood alerts, while in **Bahawalpur**, continuous evacuations are underway along the Sutlej’s banks.

In **Faisalabad’s Tandlianwala Tehsil**, authorities have also declared a **high alert**, urging people from riverine and low-lying regions to shift to secure locations.

Rescue operations, assisted by **Rescue 1122 teams, local volunteers, Pakistan Army, and Rangers**, are ongoing across flood-hit areas of Punjab.
