Veteran Politician Javed Hashmi Speaks Out Against Police Raid Amid PTI Protest Call

Multan: Senior politician and former Member of the National Assembly, Javed Hashmi, has strongly condemned a police raid on his residence following Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) call for nationwide protests on August 5.
In a statement posted on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Hashmi revealed that police and intelligence agency personnel stormed his house, conducted a room-by-room search, and behaved disrespectfully toward the women in his household. He described the raid as a blatant violation of constitutional rights and human dignity.
Hashmi defended PTI’s protest, stating that the party’s demonstration is a democratic right within the framework of the Constitution and law, aimed at defending democracy, human freedom, and constitutional supremacy.
He further stressed that the time has come for the people to unite and liberate Pakistan from the control of the establishment. “We must work together to build a country where the will of the people and the supremacy of Parliament prevail,” he added.
It is worth noting that PTI had announced nationwide protests on August 5 to mark two years since the imprisonment of its founder, Imran Khan.
