Dispute Over Payment Leads Burak Özçivit to Bid Farewell to “Kuruluş Osman”

Islamabad: Turkish actor Burak Özçivit, renowned for his portrayal of the central character “Osman Bey” in the internationally acclaimed Turkish drama Kuruluş Osman, has officially parted ways with the series due to a payment dispute. Özçivit had been portraying the iconic role for the past five seasons.
According to reports from Turkish media, a disagreement arose between Özçivit and the series’ producer, Mehmet Bozdağ, regarding the compensation for the new season. Özçivit demanded a payment of 4 million Turkish lira per episode, which caused tensions between him and the production team. As a result, both parties reportedly unfollowed each other on social media, further fueling rumors about the dispute.
Recently, Burak Özçivit shared a story on Instagram, writing that saying goodbye is a great virtue. He expressed his heartfelt gratitude to his viewers for six years of hard work and dedication, and bid farewell to those who understood the truth behind the decision. He also promised that fans would soon meet again in a new story.
It is worth noting that the upcoming season of Kuruluş Osman was set to feature an older version of Osman Bey, with the storyline shifting focus primarily to his son, Orhan Ghazi. While the official announcement regarding the new lead actor is still pending, reports suggest that well-known actors such as Mert Yılmazoğlu, Murat Yıldırım, and Ibrahim Çelikol are being considered for the role.
Burak Özçivit is one of the highest-paid actors in Turkey, reportedly earning over 40,000 Euros per episode, significantly higher than the other cast members, whose compensation ranges between 15,000 and 30,000 Euros per episode.
Kuruluş Osman, since its inception, has garnered immense popularity both in Turkey and globally, credited for its exceptional storyline and high production quality. However, Burak Özçivit’s departure marks the beginning of a new chapter for the series.
