Shamon Abbasi Reveals Poverty Led to His Divorces, No Fault of His Ex-Wives

Islamabad: Senior actor Shamon Abbasi has recently shared a heartfelt revelation that his first two marriages ended in divorce due to financial struggles, adding that neither of his ex-wives was at fault. In a candid appearance on ‘New TV,’ Shamon opened up about his personal life, including his past marriages and battles with health issues.
Shamon revealed that despite the breakdown of his marriages, he still maintains a cordial relationship with both of his ex-wives, Javeria Abbasi and Humaima Malik. He emphasized that, after the divorces, both he and his ex-wives came to realize their own mistakes, which helped in keeping any bitterness or hatred at bay. He noted that although emotions were heated during their breakups, time allowed everyone to reflect and rebuild positive relationships.
According to Shamon, not only has he become more financially stable over the years, but both Javeria and Humaima have also found better lives. He praised their hard work and dedication in building successful careers, admitting that while he did contribute to their success, they achieved their current positions through their own perseverance.
Shamon further explained that his marriages dissolved because of financial hardship. He recalled that his financial situation was poor, and both his wives had expectations that he could not meet at the time. This eventually led to their separation.
He described the tough times he faced, sharing that at one point, he was so destitute that he went without food for days. He even lived on the roof of a roadside restaurant, borrowing food on credit, and at one point his credit limit was cut off after owing around 350 rupees. He also mentioned traveling on top of buses, experiencing extreme poverty, but believing that hard work would eventually pay off.
Shamon’s perseverance paid off, and eventually, he was able to afford a large house with a parking lot that could fit four cars. While he admitted that his divorces were due to his inability to meet his ex-wives’ expectations at the time, he did not delve into the specifics of their demands.
Notably, Shamon Abbasi married actress Sherry Shah in April 2023, marking his third marriage after his two previous ones ended in divorce.
Shamon’s first marriage was to Javeria Abbasi in 1997, which ended in separation in 2007. The couple had a daughter, Anzeela Abbasi, who has followed in her parents’ footsteps and is now working as an actress.
In 2010, Shamon married actress Humaima Malik, but their relationship lasted only three years, with the couple parting ways in 2013.
