Quetta Police Arrest Victim’s Mother in Double Murder Case Following Video Statement

Quetta: In a significant development in the double murder case of a man and woman in Balochistan, Quetta police have arrested the mother of the deceased woman, Bano Bibi.
According to reports, the arrest took place last night, and today, Bano Bibi’s mother was presented in an Anti-Terrorism Court. During the proceedings, the police requested a 2-day remand for the accused, which was granted by the court.
The case gained further attention after a video statement by the victim’s mother surfaced, in which she defended the killing of her daughter, claiming it was in accordance with Baloch customs. She stated, “My daughter Bano was punished according to our traditions. The decision to kill her was not made by Sardar Sher Baz Satakzai but was taken by a Baloch Jirga.” She further appealed for the release of Sardar Sher Baz Satakzai and other arrested individuals involved in the case.
The police have not yet apprehended the brother of the deceased, who is still wanted in connection with the case. Efforts to arrest him are ongoing, with raids being conducted.
Sardar Sher Baz Satakzai, named as a key suspect in the case, was granted a 10-day physical remand by the police yesterday.
The tragic incident occurred in the Degarai area near Quetta, where a man and a woman were publicly executed just three days before Eid-ul-Azha. The video of the killings went viral on social media, prompting the Chief Minister of Balochistan, Sardar Sarfraz Bugti, to take notice of the case and order the arrest of multiple suspects involved.
