Pakistan’s Prosperity and Development Require Collective Efforts, Says Qadoos Bizenjo

ISLAMABAD/QUETTA: Pakistan Peoples Party Senator and former Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Abdul Qadoos Bizenjo has urged the nation to remain united and work collectively for the country’s integrity, sovereignty, prosperity and development.

In his special message on Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day, Bizenjo congratulated the nation and said the occasion provided an opportunity to remember the sacrifices and tireless struggle of the country’s founders while renewing the national commitment to Pakistan’s progress and stability.

He said August 14 was a historic day when the long struggle of the Muslims of the subcontinent culminated in the emergence of Pakistan as an independent and sovereign state.

Bizenjo said Pakistan was not achieved easily. Millions of people made enormous sacrifices, endured hardships and left their homes during the struggle for independence and migration. He said the sacrifices were made to establish a free homeland where Muslims could live according to their values, traditions and national identity.

He said Independence Day was not merely an occasion for celebrations but also a day for national accountability and renewal of commitment. He urged citizens to place the national interest above personal, group and political interests.

The former chief minister said the development and stability of Pakistan was not solely the government’s responsibility. Every segment of society—including political parties, government institutions, business communities, students, youth, women, workers and farmers—must fulfill its responsibilities with honesty, hard work and dedication.

He stressed that national unity, mutual respect and political and social harmony were essential to overcoming the challenges facing Pakistan. While differences of opinion were part of a democratic society, national interests required citizens and political forces to stand together on matters of national importance.

Bizenjo said Pakistan’s path to development passed through a strong economy, quality education, improved healthcare, employment opportunities, rule of law, democratic stability and strong institutions. He emphasized the need to equip young people with modern education and skills and create employment opportunities for them.

Balochistan’s Development

Speaking about Balochistan, Bizenjo said the province was an integral and important part of Pakistan and its people had always made sacrifices for the country’s security, stability and development.

He said it was a national responsibility to ensure that the people of Balochistan were equal partners in national development and received adequate access to education, healthcare, employment and other basic facilities.

He stressed that residents of remote areas of Balochistan should have access to the same basic services available in developed parts of the country. He said the province’s youth were talented and, if provided with modern education, skills and employment opportunities, could make a significant contribution to the development of both Balochistan and Pakistan.

Bizenjo also highlighted the importance of maintaining peace and security, acknowledging the sacrifices made by security forces and citizens in the fight for peace. He called for collective efforts to promote tolerance, brotherhood and national unity.

He paid tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the country’s security and peace, saying their sacrifices were a valuable part of Pakistan’s national history and should be remembered by future generations.

Call for National Unity

The PPP senator said protecting Pakistan’s integrity and sovereignty was the responsibility of every citizen, adding that citizens must promote respect for law, tolerance and mutual respect within society.

He acknowledged the economic and social challenges facing Pakistan but said the nation had always confronted difficult circumstances with courage. He expressed confidence that Pakistan could reach new heights of development and prosperity if the nation remained united, institutions fulfilled their responsibilities and citizens prioritized the national interest.

Bizenjo called for building a Pakistan based on the vision of the country’s founders—where every citizen enjoys equal opportunities, young people have access to education and employment, vulnerable segments of society are protected and the law is applied equally to all.

He said Pakistan’s future was linked to its youth and urged young people to play a positive role in national development through education, research, technology, entrepreneurship and other fields.

On the occasion of the 79th Independence Day, Bizenjo appealed to the nation to collectively pledge to work for Pakistan’s sovereignty, peace, prosperity and development. He urged people to set aside differences and unite in the broader national interest to build a safer, stronger and more prosperous Pakistan for future generations.

He concluded by congratulating the entire nation, particularly the people of Balochistan, on Independence Day and prayed for Pakistan’s continued security, peace, stability, development and prosperity.
