New Sugar Prices Set in Islamabad and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
Strict Legal Action for Violations

Peshawar/Islamabad: Following the recent increase in sugar prices nationwide, new sugar rates have been fixed in the federal capital and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. In Islamabad, the retail price of sugar has been set at 172 Pakistani rupees per kilogram, while the ex-mill rate will be 165 rupees per kilogram. Any violation of these price regulations will result in stringent legal action.
The Deputy Commissioner of Islamabad, Irfan Memon, has issued instructions to all Assistant Commissioners to monitor and enforce the new price list. He emphasized that strict action would be taken against those selling sugar above the prescribed rates, and urged citizens to report vendors charging excess prices.
Meanwhile, the Food Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has also issued directives for the sale of sugar at the ex-mill price. According to the announcement, the ex-mill price of sugar has been set at 165 rupees per kilogram. The price is expected to rise by 2 rupees per kilogram every month, with the maximum price expected to reach 171 rupees per kilogram by October 15.
