Actress and Model Humaira Asghar’s Body Handed Over to Family for Burial in Lahore; Police Investigation Underway

Karachi: The body of actress and model Humaira Asghar, who was found dead in her apartment in Defence Phase 6, has been handed over to her family. Following the completion of legal formalities, her relatives departed with her body for Lahore where her funeral and burial will take place.

In an emotional conversation with the media, Humaira’s brother shared that they had lost contact with her about 10 months ago, after which she had faced the loss of a close relative. He mentioned that due to this situation, they could not reach Karachi immediately, which delayed the retrieval of her body. However, he emphasized that the family remained in constant contact with the police, ensuring that all legal procedures were followed.

The family confirmed that the burial of the late actress will be conducted in Lahore.

Meanwhile, police authorities have stated that an investigation into the cause of death is ongoing. They are considering various angles and will be questioning the cab driver and other individuals involved in the case. The mobile phone records of the actress have also been retrieved for analysis, with inquiries being made into the people she last communicated with.

Circumstances of Discovery
Humaira Asghar’s body was discovered on July 8th in her apartment located at Ittehad Commercial, when the landlord, unable to collect rent, went to court. A bailiff arrived to open the door, and it was at this point that the actress’s body was found.

Autopsy Report
An initial report from the post-mortem examination, conducted by Karachi Police Surgeon Dr. Sameya Syed, revealed that the body was in an advanced stage of decomposition. According to her, this suggested that the actress had likely passed away nearly a month before the body was discovered.
