Balochistan Government Releases Over Rs1 Billion for Salaries of University Employees

The Government of Balochistan has released over Rs1 billion for the payment of salaries and pensions of employees at four public sector universities in the province.
According to a notification issued by the Balochistan Finance Department, the University of Balochistan has been allocated Rs520 million, Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences (BUITEMS) has received Rs180 million, Sardar Bahadur Khan Women’s University has been allocated Rs200 million, and Lasbela University of Agriculture, Water and Marine Sciences has been given Rs100 million.
The funds have been disbursed to cover the employees’ salaries and pensions up to June 2025.
This financial release comes after employees of the University of Balochistan staged protests over the non-payment of their salaries for the past month. The government’s move is seen as a significant step toward resolving the crisis and ensuring the smooth functioning of higher education institutions in the province.
