Pakistan Recommends Donald Trump for 2026 Nobel Peace Prize for Averting Indo-Pak War

Islamabad: The Government of Pakistan has officially recommended former U.S. President Donald Trump for the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize, citing his crucial diplomatic intervention that helped prevent a full-scale war between Pakistan and India.
According to an official statement, Pakistan credits President Trump’s timely and strategic diplomatic engagement during the 2025 Indo-Pak crisis with defusing tensions and facilitating a ceasefire. The government stated that Trump’s actions averted what could have been a devastating regional conflict, with global repercussions.
The statement emphasized that India’s unprovoked and unlawful aggression resulted in serious violations of Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, causing civilian casualties, including women and children. In response, Pakistan launched Operation Bunyān Mursūs, a calculated and resolute military operation aimed at restoring the balance of power and defending regional stability.
At this critical juncture, President Trump reportedly engaged in active diplomatic communication with both Islamabad and New Delhi. His efforts, according to Pakistan, played a key role in halting escalation and fostering dialogue.
Pakistan also praised Trump’s offer to mediate a peaceful resolution to the Kashmir dispute, identifying it as the root cause of instability in South Asia. The government stressed that any resolution must be aligned with relevant UN resolutions.
The statement further expressed hope that Trump’s leadership and peace-building efforts would contribute not only to South Asian stability but also to broader efforts for peace in the Middle East, particularly in light of the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and rising tensions with Iran.
