“Long Live Pakistan” Chant at Meeting with COAS General Asim Munir in Washington

Washington, D.C.: During his official visit to the United States, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Asim Munir engaged in an important meeting with the Pakistani overseas community in Washington, D.C. The session focused on strengthening the bond between the armed forces and the diaspora. As Field Marshal Munir took the stage, attendees raised the spirited chant of “Jeevay Jeevay Pakistan” (Long Live Pakistan), to which the COAS responded by placing his hand on his heart and joining in the chant alongside the crowd.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Army Chief received a warm welcome from the community members, with a large turnout of Pakistanis eager to meet him. The attendees praised the role of the Pakistan Army, particularly highlighting its courage, professionalism, and sacrifices in defending national security, with specific recognition given to the army’s efforts in “Operation Binyan Marsoos” and the “Battle of Haq.”
In his speech, General Munir hailed overseas Pakistanis as ambassadors of the nation, acknowledging their vital contributions to Pakistan’s economy through remittances, investments, and international achievements across various sectors. He emphasized the importance of maintaining connections with the overseas community, noting that their experiences, insights, and deep-rooted ties to Pakistan could significantly aid in addressing the country’s challenges and advancing its development journey.
The meeting provided a platform for community members to directly share their thoughts and suggestions with the Army Chief. General Munir reiterated Pakistan Army’s commitment to strengthening ties with Pakistanis living abroad, emphasizing a spirit of cooperation to build stronger relationships globally.
