Israel and the US Responsible for Rise in Islamophobia: Saad Rafique

Lahore: Former Federal Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique has blamed the United States and Israel for being the primary drivers behind the rise of Islamophobia across the globe.
In a social media post, Rafique condemned recent Israeli attacks allegedly justified by concerns over Iran’s nuclear program. He criticized what he described as Israel’s “hypocritical and double standards” in global nuclear policy.
He pointed out that Israel has never signed the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and does not allow the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to conduct comprehensive inspections of its nuclear facilities.
Rafique further stated that Israel continues to be involved in aggressive actions against its neighbors and other countries in the region. He also accused the US and European powers of imposing wars on Iraq, Libya, and Iran to prevent them from becoming nuclear powers — actions he labeled as hypocritical and destructive to global peace.
The former minister emphasized that true peace can only be achieved through the principle of peaceful coexistence, and warned that the West’s current approach fuels hostility and fear against Muslims worldwide.
