President Zardari Expresses Concern Over India’s Rising Hindu Nationalism and Calls for Regional Unity

Islamabad:President Asif Ali Zardari has raised alarms about the growing influence of Hindutva ideology in India, warning that it poses significant threats to regional peace and stability. Speaking at the Presidential Palace, Zardari emphasized that the rise in Hindu nationalist sentiment, particularly against minorities like Muslims and Christians, could have serious implications not just for India, but for the entire South Asian region.
During a meeting with leaders and workers of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) who had come to extend Eid-ul-Adha greetings, the president stressed the importance of staying committed to the nation’s progress. He called for greater focus on strengthening Pakistan’s economy and making it self-reliant, particularly through the development of the agricultural sector.
“Pakistan has immense potential for growth,” said Zardari. “Agriculture is the backbone of our economy, and by supporting our farmers, we can foster economic prosperity.”
President Zardari also emphasized the need for national unity in the face of rising challenges. He encouraged all political factions and citizens to collaborate for the betterment of the nation, underlining that collective efforts are essential for Pakistan’s long-term development.
He concluded by reiterating the importance of maintaining a strong, peaceful, and cooperative relationship with neighboring countries while safeguarding the country’s interests.
