Over 14,000 Injured During Eid al-Adha Animal Sacrifices in Turkey

In a staggering turn of events, more than **14,000 people** were injured on the first day of **Eid al-Adha** in Turkey while performing animal sacrifices. According to the country’s **Health Minister**, a total of **14,372 individuals** were admitted to hospitals with injuries on Friday, the first day of the holiday.
The most affected cities were **Ankara**, where **1,049** people were injured, followed by **Istanbul** with **753 injuries**, and **Konya** with **655 people** hurt while sacrificing animals. The Health Minister urged the public to exercise caution and advised them to seek the assistance of professional butchers to avoid such accidents during the sacrificial process.
Turkish media reports highlight that the number of injuries during Eid al-Adha has been consistently high over the past few years. Last year, about **16,000** people were injured, while in **2023**, the toll stood at around **30 injuries**.
Authorities continue to encourage public safety measures to minimize accidents, particularly urging individuals to handle animal sacrifices with care and to avoid any unnecessary risks.
