Arrival of Hajj Pilgrims Begins, Saudi Authorities Impose Restrictions on Residency in Mecca and Holy Sites for Visit Visa Holders

Mecca:The arrival of Hajj pilgrims has begun, marking the start of the Hajj season. However, Saudi authorities have announced strict regulations prohibiting those with visit visas from residing in Mecca or other sacred sites during their stay.
According to Saudi officials, individuals who violate this residency ban will face fines of up to 100,000 Saudi Riyals. The Ministry of Interior has warned both local citizens and foreign residents about these regulations, emphasizing the importance of adhering to the rules.
In conjunction with the national Hajj air operations, the first flight departed from Islamabad to Medina, signaling the start of the official Hajj season.
Authorities have also introduced the “Road to Mecca” project, which includes the establishment of seven dedicated immigration counters to streamline the process for pilgrims arriving in Saudi Arabia.
These measures are designed to ensure the smooth and orderly conduct of Hajj rituals while maintaining security and ensuring that the sacred sites are reserved for pilgrims who are specifically there for Hajj purposes.
