CM Balochistan Orders Comprehensive Educational Survey, Stresses Transparency in Umbrella Schemes

Quetta:A high-level meeting chaired by Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti was held on Monday at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat to review the progress and improvement of the Education Department’s umbrella schemes. The meeting thoroughly examined the ongoing and proposed schemes, with a strong emphasis on transparency and effective implementation.

During the session, Chief Minister Bugti directed that a comprehensive and organized survey be conducted across all districts to assess educational needs accurately, enabling data-driven and practical planning. He emphasized the need to align estimated costs with allocated resources under the umbrella schemes to prevent wastage and ensure efficient project completion.

Highlighting the disparities in educational development across the province, the Chief Minister stressed that backward districts should be prioritized in the allocation of umbrella scheme resources to reduce regional imbalances. He firmly stated that the distribution of resources must be free from political influence or external pressures, and should be based solely on merit and transparency.

Chief Minister Bugti also directed that schools lacking basic facilities be given top priority to ensure grassroots-level improvement in the education sector. He called for the activation of district-level monitoring committees to oversee the development projects, ensuring transparency and tangible outcomes.

Furthermore, he emphasized that the opinions and needs of the local communities must be incorporated into educational planning to ensure that development projects align with on-the-ground realities.

The meeting was attended by Provincial Minister for Education Raheela Hameed Khan Durrani, Provincial Finance Minister Mir Shoaib Nosherwani, Advisor for Local Government Nawabzada Baba Amir Hamza Khan Zehri, Additional Chief Secretary for Planning and Development Hafiz Abdul Basit, Principal Secretary to CM Babar Khan, Secretary Education Saleh Muhammad Nasir, Secretary Finance Imran Zarkoon, and other senior officials.

The Chief Minister urged all officials to remain committed to institutional reform, transparent processes, and uncompromised execution to bring about genuine change in the education sector.
