Political Instability and Economic Crisis Push Skilled Workers to Leave Pakistan: Mir Tahir Bizenjo

QUETTA:Mir Tahir Bizenjo, a central leader of the National Party and former Senator, expressed deep concerns about the deteriorating situation in Pakistan. He stated that the country is grappling with severe political turmoil and economic instability, which have led to widespread disillusionment. As a result, thousands of skilled professionals and talented individuals are leaving the country in search of better opportunities abroad.

Bizenjo highlighted the deteriorating law and order situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, where the government’s authority is almost non-existent. He also pointed out the growing public unrest in Balochistan due to the illegal detention of Dr. Mah Rang Baloch and his associates. According to Bizenjo, the ruling authorities are showing no willingness to rectify their mistakes.

Bizenjo further criticized the government’s intentions to seize control of Baloch and Pashtun resources through force, emphasizing the controversial Mines and Minerals Act. He accused the Pakistani establishment, along with former President Zardari and the Sharif brothers, of using this act to illegally appropriate the valuable mineral resources of Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Bizenjo argued that this legislation directly undermines provincial rights and autonomy, violating the spirit of the 18th Amendment.

According to Bizenjo, the constitutional framework grants provinces ownership over their resources, and any federal monopoly over precious minerals is unacceptable to the Baloch and Pashtun people. He urged nationalist groups from both communities to unite and raise their voices against the “unjust” Mines and Minerals Act.

Bizenjo’s statement underscores the growing frustration and demands for greater autonomy in the face of what many see as an increasing centralization of power at the federal level. The ongoing political and economic challenges continue to fuel tensions across Pakistan’s provinces.
