Army Chief General Asim Munir Honors Martyrs and Heroes at Special Ceremony, Emphasizes Nation’s Gratitude

Rawalpindi: In a heart-touching ceremony at the General Headquarters (GHQ), Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir paid tribute to the sacrifices of the martyrs and the courage of the soldiers who serve the nation. He emphasized that the martyrs and Ghazis (war heroes) are the pride of the nation, and their respect and honor are a duty for every Pakistani. He stated, *“Our peace and freedom today are the result of the sacrifices made by these brave sons of the soil.”*

The ceremony, which was attended by senior military officials, as well as the families of martyrs and award recipients, witnessed the conferring of prestigious military awards, including the *Sitara-e-Imtiaz (Military)* and the *Tamgha-e-Basalat*, among others. The awards were presented in recognition of the bravery, courage, and exemplary service to the nation.

Speaking at the occasion, General Asim Munir expressed his deep respect for the martyrs and praised their families for their unwavering support. He said, *“This ceremony is not only a moment of pride for the awardees but also a message to the entire nation that our armed forces are always ready to defend the sovereignty, security, and peace of Pakistan.”*

The Army Chief further acknowledged the sacrifices of the martyrs’ families, highlighting their courage, patience, and steadfastness. He added, *“The nation owes a debt of gratitude to these great families. Their sacrifices will never be forgotten.”*

General Asim Munir also lauded the relentless efforts of the Pakistan Army and law enforcement agencies in their fight against terrorism, stating, *“Our soldiers have thwarted numerous terrorist attacks and neutralized key terrorist commanders.”* He expressed confidence that Pakistan’s military remains steadfast in its commitment to ensure the country’s security, peace, and sovereignty.

The ceremony was a solemn reminder of the resilience of the Pakistan Army and the sacrifices made by its soldiers in the face of adversity. It also reinforced the message that Pakistan’s security is safeguarded by the professionalism and dedication of its armed forces.
