Efforts Underway for Imran Khan’s Release Through Behind-the-Scenes Contacts with the Establishment

Islamabad:Behind-the-scenes efforts to secure the release of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan have been revealed, with senior party leaders actively engaging with the establishment. According to media reports, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur are working behind the scenes to negotiate Imran Khan’s release.

A senior PTI official, speaking on condition of anonymity, confirmed that the two leaders are in contact with the establishment. They believe that without the establishment’s approval, Imran Khan’s release will not be possible. However, the officials remain hopeful that the former Prime Minister will soon be granted relief.

The party insider stated that although direct meetings with the establishment have not occurred, efforts to facilitate talks are ongoing. If successful, these discussions could lead to significant developments in Khan’s release.

Barrister Gohar expressed optimism during an interview with a private news channel, stating that he is hopeful about Khan’s release and is continuing efforts at all levels to secure it.

It was also reported that Ali Amin Gandapur and Barrister Gohar recently met Army Chief General Asim Munir in Peshawar, with sources suggesting the meeting focused on security matters. However, Barrister Gohar clarified that the discussion primarily concerned security issues.

Meanwhile, sources close to Gandapur suggest that he is leveraging his connections to help bring Khan out of jail. However, the establishment’s position is that political parties should engage in direct negotiations for a resolution.

As these efforts unfold, PTI leaders are optimistic about potential breakthroughs in their pursuit of Imran Khan’s release.
