Allu Arjun Responds Firmly to Allegations Over ‘Pushpa 2’ Premiere Incident
Mumbai:Telugu cinema superstar Allu Arjun has given a strong rebuttal to allegations that he exploited the tragic death of a fan during the *Pushpa 2: The Rule* premiere to promote his film. The incident, which took place during the film’s premiere, led to the death of a woman and left her son critically injured.
The allegations surfaced in the Telangana Assembly when Akbaruddin Owaisi claimed that Allu Arjun had been informed about the incident but continued to watch the film. Owaisi alleged that when the actor was told that a woman had died and her child was injured, Allu Arjun reportedly smiled and said, “Now the film will be a hit.”
Additionally, Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) accused Allu Arjun of conducting a road show and visiting the theater without police permission, criticizing the film industry for supporting the actor.
**Allu Arjun Denies the Allegations**
In a press conference at his residence in Jubilee Hills on Saturday evening, Allu Arjun, accompanied by his lawyer, passionately addressed the allegations. He refuted the claims made in the assembly and stated that the incident was a “tragic accident” and emphasized that neither the police nor anyone else was at fault.
Arjun said, “For me, theaters are like temples, and this incident has deeply hurt me. This attack on my character is unfounded. People have known me for 20 years; can I really say something like that?”
**Clarification on the Police and Road Show Allegations**
The actor clarified that he had taken permission from the police before visiting the theater. “The theater management had already coordinated with the police,” he explained. “There was no procession or road show; I merely stepped out of the car to wave at the fans and requested them to let my car pass. It was a gesture of respect, not arrogance.”
Allu Arjun further stressed that he had been in constant contact with the family of the injured child, saying, “This is the lowest point of my life. My own children are of the same age. Am I not a father? Can I not understand their pain?”
The actor revealed that his team was exploring ways to assist the affected child. They were planning to open a fixed deposit account for the child’s future.
