Islamabad:Famous Pakistani pop and bhangra singer Abrar-ul-Haq, widely known as the “King of Bhangra,” has shared a humorous incident from his early career in a recent podcast. Abrar-ul-Haq, whose Punjabi songs are a staple at weddings across Pakistan, discussed his musical journey and future plans, while also sharing an amusing story about a collaboration with Indian rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh.
According to Abrar-ul-Haq, his manager once told him that a woman named “Honey” wanted to collaborate with him on a song. Initially, Abrar declined the offer, thinking it was a woman artist. However, a few days later, his manager called again, informing him that “Honey’s manager” was now requesting the collaboration. Abrar, surprised, asked, “Does Honey have a manager?” The manager confirmed, and it was only then that Abrar realized that “Honey” was not a woman, but the famous Indian rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh.
In the podcast, Abrar laughed at the confusion, stating, “You didn’t know who Honey Singh was?” After this realization, Abrar-ul-Haq reached out to the renowned Indian singer, and they ended up collaborating on a track together.
Abrar-ul-Haq is known for his iconic songs such as *”Balode Ghar”* and *”Chamakili Baarat Le Ke Aai Hai.”* Besides his music career, he briefly entered politics by joining Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) but later announced his decision to step away from politics. Abrar-ul-Haq is also the founder and chairman of the *Sahara for Life Trust*, a private charitable organization focused on social welfare.
His humorous anecdote about Honey Singh highlights not only the lighter side of his career but also his willingness to collaborate with international artists, making his mark in both music and philanthropy.
