Earthquake Strikes Zhob District in Balochistan, Measuring 4 on Richter Scale
Quetta: The district of Zhob in Balochistan was shaken by an earthquake, with tremors causing fear and panic among the local population. People rushed out of their homes, reciting the Kalima as a precautionary measure.
According to the Seismic Monitoring Center, the earthquake was recorded at a magnitude of 4 on the Richter scale. The epicenter was located 61 kilometers northwest of Zhob, at a depth of 33 kilometers.
Despite the tremors being felt across the region, there have been no reports of casualties or damage to property. People evacuated their homes and offices quickly, though no significant impact was noted.
This earthquake follows a series of tremors in recent days, including one in Islamabad and other cities. According to the National Seismic Monitoring Center in Islamabad, a larger earthquake was recorded on Monday morning, measuring 5 on the Richter scale, with an epicenter located 35 kilometers deep in the earth, 106 kilometers south of Zhob.
The US Geological Survey reported that another quake occurred less than an hour later, measuring 3.9 on the Richter scale, with an epicenter located 79 kilometers south of Zhob at a depth of 151 kilometers. The tremors have caused concern among local residents, though no immediate reports of damage or loss of life have been received.
