Imad Wasim Announces Retirement from International Cricket
Islamabad: Pakistan’s renowned all-rounder Imad Wasim has announced his retirement from international cricket. The announcement was made through a post on the social media platform ‘X’, where he addressed his fans and cricket enthusiasts.
In his post, Imad stated, “After much contemplation, I have decided to retire from international cricket.” He went on to say, “Representing Pakistan on the global stage has been the greatest honor of my life, and wearing the green jersey has been an unforgettable experience at every moment.”
The all-rounder also expressed his gratitude to his fans, saying, “Your unwavering support, love, and passion have always been my greatest strength. During the ups and downs of my career, your encouragement has empowered me to give my best performance for my beloved country.”
Imad further emphasized, “As this chapter comes to an end, I am determined to continue my cricket journey through domestic and franchise cricket. I am confident that I will continue to meet your expectations as a player. Thank you for everything, Pakistan.”
It is worth noting that Imad Wasim was not part of Pakistan’s squad for the 2023 Cricket World Cup, and he announced his retirement from international cricket in November 2023. However, in March 2024, he reversed his decision and announced that he was available for selection after discussions with PCB officials.
Imad’s decision to retire marks the end of an illustrious chapter in his international career, but he remains committed to contributing to the sport at the domestic and franchise levels.
