FIA Registers Case Against Journalist Harmit Singh Under PECA Act

Islamabad: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has registered a case against journalist Harmit Singh under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA). He is accused of spreading false narratives against state institutions and inciting the public.
According to the FIR (First Information Report) filed by the FIA, Harmit Singh used his X (formerly Twitter) profile to promote a malicious agenda against state institutions. The charges allege that he attempted to provoke civilians towards violent actions, creating fear and a sense of insecurity among the general population.
The case further accuses Singh of attempting to sow discord between the key pillars of the state, fueling provincial and ethnic divisions for the benefit of certain individuals.
