Gang Arrested for Scamming Citizens with Fake Car Deals on Social Media

Karachi: The Karachi Police have arrested a group of scammers who deceived innocent citizens through social media platforms, including Facebook and other apps, by offering cars at much lower prices than the market value. The suspects duped individuals into paying large sums of money by promising them deals where the buyers would only need to pay 60% of the car’s price, with the remaining 40% supposedly covered by the scammers.
According to Gulshan-e-Iqbal Police, the gang set up multiple offices in different areas to further their fraudulent activities. They targeted numerous citizens, convincing them to pay money upfront, after which the victims never received the promised cars.
The police revealed that there have been several complaints lodged against the gang by the victims. Four individuals, including a woman, have been arrested so far. The authorities have launched an investigation to apprehend other members of the gang who are still at large.
