Sindh Launches New Digital App for Birth, Death, Marriage and Divorce Registration

Karachi: In a major step toward digital governance, the Sindh government has launched a new mobile application that allows citizens to register births, deaths, marriages, and divorces directly from their smartphones.

The initiative aims to make civil registration faster, easier, and more accessible for everyone—especially families living in remote or underserved areas. With the introduction of this app, citizens will no longer need to visit government offices, stand in long queues, or deal with extensive paperwork. Registrations can now be completed from home or through nearby health facilities.

A significant relief for the public is that the Sindh government will now **cover the fee** for birth and death registrations. This means families will not have to pay any charges for these essential services. For many low-income households, registration fees were a major barrier, leaving thousands of children unregistered. The removal of these fees is expected to improve official coverage and ensure every child receives legal identity at birth.

The new digital system, known as the **Civil Registration Management System (CRMS)**, is integrated with hundreds of public and private health facilities across the province. Since nearly all births in Sindh occur in or pass through a health center, the new system will make instant registration easier and more efficient.

Officials say the move represents a major advancement in modernizing public services and expanding citizen access to essential documentation.
