Issuing Notices to Madrassas After Fleeing From Legislation in Balochistan Assembly Is Proof of Government Panic: Maulana Abdul Wasey
There Will Be No Compromise on the Constitutional Protection of Religious Institutions: JUI Provincial Ameer

QUETTA (Daily Qudrat Quetta): JUI Balochistan Provincial Ameer Senator Maulana Abdul Wasey, expressing a strong reaction to the issuance of notices by the Quetta administration in the name of registration of religious madrassas, has said that madrassas and the people associated with them can by no means be intimidated or harassed through ridiculous measures and unnecessary government notices. He made clear that religious madrassas are performing the important duty of religious and educational services across the country, and efforts to bring them under pressure are completely contrary to the requirements of the Constitution and law.
In a statement, Maulana Abdul Wasey said that JUI is fully aware of the designs of those who, by making local and subordinate officers tools, carry out actions against madrassas and are trying to make the sensitive matter of registration a means of blackmailing and pressure; however, no unconstitutional step will be allowed to succeed.
Strongly criticising the provincial government, he alleged that after taking the escape route of not presenting the bill regarding madrassas in the Balochistan Assembly, now efforts are being made to bring institutions under pressure by resorting to administrative notices, whereas the reality is that the obstacle in the process of madrassa registration is being created not by the madrassas but by the wrong policies and conduct of the provincial and federal governments.
Senator Maulana Abdul Wasey said that discrimination against religious madrassas through unnecessary government actions should be stopped immediately and all their matters should be settled in accordance with law and the Constitution. He made clear in unequivocal terms that JUI will not compromise on the rights, autonomy and protection of religious madrassas, and a voice will be raised on all legal and constitutional forums against every unconstitutional step.
He strongly demanded that the relevant authorities resolve the matter of registration seriously and through mutual consultation and immediately stop the issuance of unnecessary notices.
