‘Even If We Have 10 Children, I Will Remain Falak’s First Priority,’ Says Sarah Khan

ISLAMABAD: Popular Pakistani actress Sarah Khan has made interesting revelations about her married life, motherhood, her husband Falak Shabir’s affection and her desire to expand their family, attracting considerable attention from fans.
“I know that even if we have 10 children, I will remain Falak Shabir’s first priority. I love children and want our family to have more kids,” Sarah said. She also revealed that if she has a son in the future, she would raise him differently from her daughters.
The actress, who has impressed audiences with her performances in popular dramas including Sabaat, Raqs-e-Bismil, Hum Tum, Namak Haram and Sher, shared these insights during a recent appearance on Nida Yasir’s morning show.
During the programme, Sarah showed the face of her younger daughter, Rania, on television for the first time. She specifically mentioned that she had never previously revealed her younger daughter’s face on any media platform.
After seeing Rania’s pictures, host Nida Yasir remarked that she looked quite similar to her elder sister, Alyana, although some of her facial features also resembled her father, Falak Shabir. She added that children’s appearances continue to change as they grow older.
During the show, a fan asked whether Falak Shabir’s love had been divided between his wife and their two daughters.
Responding humorously, Sarah said the question should be put to Alyana, who had been upset the previous day because her father had told Rania “I love you” but had spoken to her in an apparently angry tone. Sarah clarified that there was no real difference in Falak’s affection for the two girls.
She further said that Falak loved both daughters dearly but also took special care of his wife’s happiness and health. According to Sarah, the arrival of children had not diminished the love between the couple, and they continued to enjoy a happy married life.
Talking about the possibility of having a son, Sarah said she had raised both her daughters, Alyana and Rania, with considerable affection and tried to fulfil their wishes. However, if she were blessed with a son, she would adopt a different approach to his upbringing and would not pamper him as much as she did her daughters.
The actress said she loved children and believed that families should have more siblings so that children could grow up together and develop strong bonds of love and companionship. She added that Falak also loved children but remained particularly concerned about her health despite their desire to have more children.
Sarah also spoke candidly about her experience with postpartum depression after the birth of her elder daughter, Alyana.
She revealed that she had experienced postpartum depression following Alyana’s birth, during which even minor incidents would upset her and often make her cry.
Recalling an incident, she said she once suggested to Falak that they should take a picture together with their children. When he casually replied that she could take the picture herself, she became emotional and started crying.
Sarah explained that her emotional condition at the time made her particularly sensitive to even small matters. However, she said she did not experience similar depression following the birth of her second daughter, Rania.
She emphasised that every woman’s body and experience are different, and postpartum depression can therefore affect women in different ways and with varying levels of intensity.
Sarah Khan and singer Falak Shabir are among the popular celebrity couples in Pakistan’s entertainment industry. The couple have two daughters, Alyana and Rania, and frequently share glimpses of their family life and happy moments on social media.
Apart from her television career, Sarah enjoys a substantial social media following, with more than 12.7 million followers on Instagram.
