Big News for Citizens Benefiting from Fuel Relief Scheme

ISLAMABAD (Daily Qudrat): Consideration is being given to expanding the scope of the fuel relief scheme, which is likely to provide financial relief to more citizens.
According to details, to provide relief to the people from petrol prices, the federal government is considering expanding the scope of the fuel relief scheme, under which the number of beneficiaries could be increased from 1.27 crore to 2 crore, which is likely to provide financial relief to more citizens.
According to the Prime Minister’s Adviser Rana Sanaullah, a proposal to expand the petrol relief programme is under consideration; however, no final decision has been taken in this regard so far, nor has an implementation date been announced.
Under the current scheme, eligible motorcyclists, three-wheeler users and owners of vehicles with engines below 800cc can be provided petrol relief of up to Rs100 per litre.
The government is examining various aspects of expanding the scheme’s scope to reduce the financial burden on the people due to rising travel costs.
If the proposed expansion is approved, millions more people will be able to benefit from this facility; however, details regarding the relief amount, eligibility criteria and changes in the registration procedure have not yet emerged.
Until a formal announcement by the government, the rules and regulations of the current scheme will remain in place.
