Delegation Led by Barrister Gohar Khan Meets Maulana Fazlur Rehman; PTI Strongly Endorses Maulana’s National Assembly Speech

ISLAMABAD (Daily Qudrat): A delegation led by PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Khan met JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, and during the meeting the Maulana’s speech was strongly endorsed. According to details shared by Asad Qaiser on X, a delegation comprising PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Khan, former National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser and Movement for the Protection of the Constitution of Pakistan spokesman Hussain Ahmed Yousafzai met Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Ameer Maulana Fazlur Rehman at his residence.
During the meeting, the visiting delegation strongly endorsed Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s speech in the National Assembly and strongly condemned the character assassination of the JUI Ameer by government ministers.
The delegation said that turning political differences into personal attacks and character assassination is contrary to democratic values, and respect for political leadership must be kept in view in all circumstances.
The meeting also strongly condemned the unjust detention of former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s sisters, keeping them deprived of basic rights and not giving family members and lawyers access to them. Participants warned that if any unpleasant situation arises as a result of this course of action, its entire responsibility will rest with the relevant authorities.
A demand was made to bring Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, Speaker Babar Saleem Swati and provincial president Junaid Akbar Khan into the public eye.
It may be recalled that yesterday in the National Assembly, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, raising questions over the imposition of Governor’s Rule and emergency in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, had warned the government that the country should not be led toward bloodshed: “We are ready to die at your hands but not ready to die in history. We disagreed with your opinion, so you turned against us; our sacrifices were mocked. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the terrorism allegation is being used as a cover for the minerals issue.” He expressed these views while addressing the National Assembly session. He said that if, on the basis of terrorism and bad conditions, the elected government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has been removed and Governor’s Rule and emergency imposed there, then conditions in Balochistan are far worse, so if this is the principle, Governor’s Rule should be imposed there too. The real motive behind the terrorism allegation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is, in fact, attempts to seize the mineral reserves there; now these matters regarding minerals are being spoken of by the Governor himself.
Regarding negotiations between the government and opposition, he revealed that he had talked with the government to run the country in a better manner, during which the Prime Minister had asked the opposition to postpone the long march. The opposition responded positively, and its demands included meeting Imran Khan and arranging his treatment.
