Ali Amin Gandapur Has Not Formed Separate Group, Says Shaukat Yousafzai
PTI Failed to Secure Relief for Imran Khan in Three Years and Must Reassess Its Strategy, Says Party Spokesperson

PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Secretary Shaukat Yousafzai has dismissed reports that former chief minister Ali Amin Gandapur has formed a separate group within the party, saying PTI remains united under the leadership of Barrister Gohar Ali Khan.
Speaking to the media, Yousafzai said Gandapur had not established a separate group and described developments during the recent parliamentary party meeting as an internal matter of the party.
He said the party had been unable to secure any relief for its founder, Imran Khan, over the past three years and needed to reassess its political strategy.
Yousafzai claimed that YouTubers were benefiting the most from Imran Khan’s imprisonment, while the widening gap between state institutions and PTI had primarily benefited the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).
He said the prime minister and the opposition leader had delayed their meeting for too long. He also rejected reports suggesting a lack of confidence in Mahmood Khan Achakzai, calling them baseless.
Concern Over Missing KP Leaders
The PTI leader expressed concern over the whereabouts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, party leader Junaid Akbar and provincial assembly Speaker Babar Saleem Swati.
He said there was no clear information about the three leaders and questioned why they had not yet been brought before the public.
“If they are wanted in any cases, they should be presented before the courts,” Yousafzai said.
Calls for Payment of KP’s Outstanding Dues
Yousafzai said the federal government had treated Khyber Pakhtunkhwa unfairly from the outset and urged the prime minister to ensure the immediate payment of all outstanding dues owed to the province.
He alleged that the elected provincial government had been removed under the pretext of non-cooperation in combating terrorism.
The PTI spokesperson maintained that his party had consistently stood alongside state institutions in the fight against terrorism and called for the effective implementation of the National Action Plan.
He said cooperation among all relevant stakeholders was essential to address the security challenges facing the province.
