Victims of Illegal Ravi River Housing Scheme Reimbursed Nearly Rs200 Million Each

LAHORE: Authorities in Punjab have reimbursed nearly **Rs196 million per person** to victims of a private housing society that was illegally established on the Ravi River’s land along Multan Road.
According to Punjab Anti-Corruption sources, affected allottees were compensated through **50% cash and 50% cheques**. The accused developer is alleged to have fraudulently sold **12,000 kanals of riverbed land** to unsuspecting citizens.
During the recent floods, the illegal housing colony was completely submerged, prompting action by the Anti-Corruption Establishment. The Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA) and Lahore Development Authority (LDA) have been asked to provide complete records of illegal housing projects established on the river’s land.
Officials confirmed that more than **400 victims filed complaints** against the scheme’s owner, and a formal challan has now been prepared against him.
Would you like me to make this sound more like an **official government press release** or a **breaking news-style report**?
