Balochistan’s First Digital Steel Mill Begins Operations; Hopes for Local Employment Opportunities

Quetta — To promote industrial development in Balochistan, the first digital steel mill has begun operations. Around 300 industries producing various items are established in Quetta’s Eastern Bypass Industrial Zone. The steel mill established in the industrial zone has the capacity to produce 500 tons of rebar per day under an automated system.

Quetta’s modern digital steel mill is producing Grade 60 rebar according to international standards. The CEO of the steel mill, Aminullah, said that due to growing construction activity in Balochistan, the presence of steel mills here is very beneficial. The establishment of the modern steel unit has created new employment opportunities for unemployed youth in Balochistan, especially Quetta.
