Sohail Afridi Made Us Go Through Endless Hurdles to Convene February Apex Committee Meeting, Says Mohsin Naqvi

Islamabad (Qudrat Roznama) — Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has said that Sohail Afridi made us go through endless hurdles to convene the Apex Committee meeting in February. A press release of the meeting was to be issued, and it only had to say that we will jointly confront terrorism — you should see what was written instead. Afridi used to say that he could not cooperate against terrorism.
Speaking in the House, he said that an Apex Committee meeting was held in February this year, which was chaired by the Chief Minister, and the Peshawar Corps Commander and I also participated. We were able to formulate a course of action after the meeting. Sohail Afridi made us go through endless hurdles to convene the Apex Committee meeting in Peshawar.
A press release of the meeting was to be issued, in which it only had to be said that we will jointly confront terrorism. You should see what was written in the press release. The same day, some of our young men were martyred, and on a special request to the Chief Minister, we took them for the funeral. That was the last day the KP Chief Minister offered the funeral prayer of any military officer or soldier.
In a program, the anchor told Shafee Jan that if he could just condemn the terrorists, but he was not even ready to do that. He was asked not to condemn the TTP but to condemn only two or three of their leaders, yet he did not condemn them. We tried until the end to prevent all this from happening there. I myself met the Chief Minister and prepared a plan for 5 districts. Under it, we would push the police forward and bring the armed forces back within 6 months. But today, if a martyrdom had occurred, the same day the KP Chief Minister would have made a speech against the soldiers.
Sohail Afridi used to say that he could not cooperate against terrorism, and the Chief Minister used to say that he could not bear this burden politically. In a program, the anchor told Shafee Jan that if he could just condemn the terrorists, but he was not even ready to do that.
