Those Distributing Sweets Over Stabbing the Government in KP in the Back Have Not Learned From History; Unconstitutional Measures Are a Severe Blow to Democracy: Senator Maulana Abdul Wasay

Loralai (Daily Qudrat Quetta): Provincial Ameer of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Balochistan, Senator Maulana Abdul Wasay, has said that those distributing sweets over stabbing the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government in the back have not learned from history and the law of consequences. Quaid-e-Jamiat Maulana Fazlur Rehman is a symbol of the country’s stability, and those who ignored his advice have been disgraced in every era. He expressed these views while addressing the annual Dastar-e-Fazilat conference of Jamia Faridia Loralai, after visiting Duki district.
Maulana Abdul Wasay, while paying tribute to the services of madrasas, said that the services of religious madrasas for the country and nation are commendable and deserve to be written in gold, because they have played an important role in promoting religious education and in the scholarly and moral training of the new generation. During his visit to Duki, he met various personalities at Jamia Darul Uloom Old Duki and offered condolences and Fatiha over the demise of Sheikh-ul-Hadith Maulana Muhammad Deen, the brother of Maulvi Ain-ud-Din, the father of Maulvi Abdul Ghafoor Akhundzada, the father of Maulana Abdul Majid Nadeem Sheikh-ul-Hadith Maulvi Abdul Sattar, and the late Abdul Rauf Akhundzada.
Presenting a clear position regarding the imposition of Governor’s Rule and emergency in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Senator Maulana Abdul Wasay said that when those who stab democracy in the chest claim to be the greatest champions of democracy, what greater political contradiction and tragedy could there be? After the undeclared emergency, the decision of a declared emergency or Governor’s Rule is another severe blow to weakening democracy and a dangerous conspiracy to deprive the people of their right to rule.
Criticizing in strong words, he said that the situation of government authority in Balochistan is not hidden from anyone; serious questions exist over the provincial government’s effectiveness and claims of peace and order, to the extent that even ministers find it difficult to travel without fear and danger. But when the political narrative aligns with the wishes of these circles, a picture of everything being fine is presented everywhere, which not only exposes the government’s claims but is also a serious mockery of democratic principles. He clarified that JUI is awaiting the instructions of its central party and future course of action on the issue of Governor’s Rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Our principled position is that depriving elected representatives of power through unconstitutional and extra-mandate measures will be disastrous for the democratic future.
Maulana Abdul Wasay recalled that Balochistan is still suffering the bitter effects of Governor’s Rule, and history bears witness that the results of breaking democratic continuity have never been pleasant. He said that those who launched a night attack on the public mandate in the February 2024 elections are once again strangling the Constitution and the people’s right to rule through emergency. Referring to historical background, he said that when Sardar Ataullah Mengal’s government was dissolved, thinker of Islam Maulana Mufti Mahmood, in protest, resigned from the government of Sarhad Province as Chief Minister, proving that for JUI, a principled position, provincial autonomy, and the defense of democracy are more important than power.
In conclusion, he emphasized that the ruling powers should respect constitutional limits, parliamentary supremacy, and the public decision instead of using force, political revenge, and undemocratic experiments. He made it clear that Jamiat will not back down from its principled position in the struggle for the protection of the public mandate under any circumstances.
