Undemocratic Idea of Imposing Governor’s Rule or Emergency in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Rejected; Ending Elected Governments Is an Attack on the Constitution: National Party

Quetta (Daily Qudrat Quetta): The Central Spokesperson of the National Party, expressing concern over reports regarding the possibility of imposing governor’s rule or emergency in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has said that ending elected democratic governments and suspending the constitutional process is in no way a democratic or constitutional course of action. Violation of parliamentary principles, public representation, and constitutional requirements is condemnable.
The statement said that the National Party considers democracy, the supremacy of the Constitution, and public sovereignty to be the foundation of the state’s stability and the country’s survival. The National Party rejects every attempt to weaken the democratic process or to seek solutions to political problems through undemocratic measures.
The spokesperson said that the solution to political and national problems lies not in force or undemocratic measures, but in meaningful negotiations, political dialogue, and the promotion of democratic attitudes. All political forces should continue the process of talks to resolve differences through negotiations so that political stability, the supremacy of the Constitution, and democratic continuity can be ensured in the country.
