CM Bugti Has Apologised So Often That Even Apologies Have Been Disgraced: Maulana Abdul Wasey

QUETTA: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) Balochistan provincial chief Maulana Abdul Wasey has strongly criticised the provincial government over its policies and performance, saying Chief Minister Balochistan has apologised so many times that even apologies have now been disgraced.
Addressing a press conference in Quetta, Maulana Abdul Wasey said the provincial government was either completely powerless or was taking decisions in instalments.
He said the names of Senator Shakoor Ghaibizai and Balochistan Assembly member Haji Zabad Reki were first placed on the Exit Control List (ECL) and the government later apologised for the decision.
“The government’s conduct is beyond comprehension,” he said, adding that merely offering formal apologies would not resolve the issue unless concrete action was taken against the officials responsible for such decisions.
Maulana Abdul Wasey warned that the provincial government’s conduct would no longer be tolerated. He said the chief minister had also apologised over the sensitive issue of madrassa registration, but the government had yet to inform stakeholders about any clear progress on the matter.
Criticising the government over the controversial legislation concerning minerals, the JUI leader accused the provincial government of deceiving the opposition over the Minerals Act.
He said the government had formally announced the withdrawal of the bill, but the issue remained unresolved. According to him, the opposition and other political parties had jointly prepared and submitted a comprehensive draft after reaching consensus, but no progress had been made due to the government’s indifference.
The JUI Balochistan chief warned that if the government failed to show seriousness on madrassa registration and the Minerals Act, JUI would consult other like-minded political parties and formulate a joint and firm course of action.
Maulana Abdul Wasey also expressed serious concern over the alleged presence of “private militias” in Balochistan and demanded that such groups be withdrawn from the province immediately.
He said the people and politicians were the real owners of the country, not the rulers.
Announcing the party’s upcoming political programme, Maulana Abdul Wasey said JUI Balochistan would begin an extensive tour of the province from November 17 and would directly approach the people to seek their support and present its position on the provincial government’s policies.
