Punjab launches Chief Minister IT internship programme for 2,000 graduates
LAHORE: The Punjab government, in collaboration with the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), has formally launched the Chief Minister IT Internship Programme, under which 2,000 fresh graduates in IT and computer science will be offered paid internships.Under the programme, selected graduates will receive a monthly stipend of Rs50,000 during a four- to five-month internship.
According to the Punjab government, the programme aims to provide young graduates with industry-oriented practical experience, enhance their digital skills and create better employment opportunities in the technology sector.
Candidates with at least 16 years of education, including BS or honours degrees in IT or related fields, are eligible to apply.
Relevant disciplines include Computer Science, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security, Data Science, Graphic Designing and Information Systems.Applicants must have completed their degree within the last four years and must be unemployed at the time of applying.
Male, female and transgender candidates holding Punjab domicile are eligible for the programme.
Applicants will be required to submit their CNIC or B-Form, Punjab domicile, educational certificates or degree, recent photograph and updated CV. Experience certificates may also be submitted, if available.
Under the internship programme, participating IT companies will also receive financial support of Rs12,500 per intern per month to provide interns with opportunities to work on practical projects.
The selection process will include profile creation, an aptitude test, degree verification by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and an interview.
