Quetta Police Bans Making TikTok Videos in Uniform and Use of Social Media by Officers and Personnel

Quetta (Daily Qudrat) — Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Quetta, Imran Shaukat, has issued an official notification imposing a strict ban on police officers and personnel making TikTok videos in uniform and sharing departmental material on social media without permission. The notification directs all officers and personnel that departmental news, photos, videos, and other information should be issued only through the PRO (Public Relations Officer) branch, while strictly avoiding providing direct interviews, statements, or official information to media organizations.
According to the statement, despite repeated instructions, it has been observed that some police officers and personnel are sharing official police performance, operational updates, and departmental material on various social media platforms, which is a clear violation of the department’s rules and regulations. No officer or personnel will be allowed to share personal or official photos, videos, and departmental information on TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, or any other social media platform without prior approval through the PRO of DIG Quetta.
The notification further said that any material related to police personnel, operations, or departmental matters that could affect the prestige, discipline, or morale of Quetta Police should be immediately reported to the PRO branch. Strict legal and departmental action will be taken against those who violate these orders.
