Hastily Passed Act by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government Could Pave Way for Governor’s Rule, Should Be Reviewed: Senator Kamran Murtaza
Quetta (Daily Qudrat) — Central President of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) Lawyers Forum and Senator Kamran Murtaza has said that the Act passed by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government was brought in haste, due to which there is a risk of paving the way for governor’s rule in the province. The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government should review this matter.
Speaking to a private TV channel, Senator Kamran Murtaza said that regarding the Act passed by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam is consulting legal experts to formulate its position. He said that the party is examining all constitutional and legal aspects of the matter, after which a clear position will be brought forward.
He said that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government should also consider all aspects of the matter instead of rushing and should review the Act so that no constitutional or legal complication arises in the future.
Regarding Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Maulana Ataur Rehman’s visit to Saudi Arabia, Senator Kamran Murtaza said that both leaders went to Saudi Arabia according to a pre-scheduled program, and linking their visit to current political matters is not appropriate.
He further said that Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam continues to consult legal experts on the matter of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government’s Act, and the party will present its position after a constitutional and legal review.
