70% Chance of Emergency Imposed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa If PTI Long March Does Not Stop: Asma Shirazi

Islamabad (Qudrat Daily) – Senior journalist Asma Shirazi has stated that this time, there will be no scare tactics or threats. If PTI’s long march does not stop, the Government of Pakistan can impose an immediate emergency. In her vlog, she explained that based on the evidence, preparations have been made under Article 232. Article 232 pertains to emergency. There are two aspects of emergency: if there is external aggression or internal disturbance, an emergency can be imposed within a province, for which a resolution of the provincial assembly is required.
If this does not happen, the President of the country has special powers and can exercise them. After the 18th Amendment, this is what Article 232 states.

There are two conditions for imposing an emergency: first, external aggression, and second, internal disturbance. The condition of external aggression has already been fulfilled in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The second condition, internal disturbance, currently exists in the form of the long march, terrorist organizations, and law and order issues.
She said, “I am telling you this as news; this is not my wish. In the Constitution, this is described as one of the most undesirable actions.” She explained the circumstances under which an emergency or governor’s rule can be imposed. If the provincial assembly does not pass a resolution for emergency, then after the President imposes an emergency, the Majlis-e-Shura (Parliament) can pass a resolution from both houses separately within ten days. She stated, “This time, there will be no scare tactics or threats. If PTI’s long march does not stop, the Government of Pakistan can impose an immediate emergency.”
