Fire at K-Electric Grid Station Disrupts Power Supply in Several Karachi Areas

KARACHI:A fire broke out at a K-Electric grid station near Baloch Colony Expressway in Karachi, disrupting electricity supply to several surrounding areas.
Chief Fire Officer Humayun Khan told the media that the fire erupted in **three panels** at the Baloch Colony grid station. He said fuel tanks were located above the panels, and flames had reached a height of around **30 to 40 feet** when firefighters arrived at the scene.
According to Humayun Khan, the fire was brought under control with the help of **eight fire tenders and two water bowsers**. No loss of life was reported in the incident, while cooling operations were continuing.
Residents said the fire caused power outages in **Manzoor Colony, Baloch Colony, Mahmoodabad and PECHS**.
Assistant Commissioner Ferozabad Javeria Iqbal, speaking to the media outside the Baloch Colony grid station, confirmed that the fire had been extinguished after fire brigade personnel reached the site.
She said there were **no casualties** in the incident and that electricity to the area had been disconnected as a precautionary measure.
