Lawlessness at Its Peak in Quetta; Police Stations Dodging FIRs by Issuing Preliminary Reports: JUI

Quetta (Daily Quudrat) – Ameer of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam District Quetta Maulana Abdul Rahman Rafiq, Secretary General Haji Ainullah Shams, Senior Deputy Ameer Maulana Khurshid Ahmed, Maulana Muhibullah, Maulana Muhammad Ayyub, Sheikh Maulana Abdul Ahad Muhammad Hasani, Maulana Saeed Ahmed, Hafiz Sirajuddin, Mufti Muhammad Rozi Khan Badizai, Maulana Muhammad Shoaib Jadoon, Rahimuddin Advocate, and Maulana Muhammad Arif Shamsher have said that lawlessness and unrest in the provincial capital Quetta have reached their peak, and nothing named government writ is visible. Expressing deep concern and regret over the performance of the city’s police stations, they said that in most police stations, proper FIRs of crimes are not registered; instead, complainants are fobbed off in the name of a preliminary report, which is open injustice to the public and a violation of the law. Turning a serious crime like robbery into an incident of petty theft is not only injustice to the victim but tantamount to encouraging criminal elements and hiding the true figures of crime. They demanded that an FIR of the relevant incident be registered immediately in accordance with the law, the accused be arrested, the stolen goods be recovered, and departmental action be taken against the responsible officials who avoid registering FIRs. They demanded that the IG Police Balochistan and other relevant authorities take immediate notice of the situation and issue clear instructions to all police stations that a case be registered immediately in accordance with the law on every citizen’s complaint, and the public be freed from unnecessary obstacles in obtaining justice.
