Balochistan Chief Minister’s Zero Tolerance Against Corruption; IG Police Issues Comprehensive SOP for Internal Accountability Branch (IAB)

To Eliminate Influence, Cases Will Not Be Sent Back to Districts; Regional SPs Will Conduct Investigations Directly
New Post of AIG Inquiries Established; Special Branch Intelligence Included in the Accountability Process; Weekly Report to Be Submitted to Central Police Office

Quetta (Daily Qudrat Quetta): IG Police Balochistan Muhammad Tahir has issued a comprehensive SOP to strengthen the Internal Accountability Branch (IAB) for the implementation of the Chief Minister of Balochistan’s zero tolerance policy against corruption.

Under the SOP, the IAB has been activated as an empowered and decisive accountability forum. The DIG IAB will daily review complaints received from across the province. Regional SPs will personally conduct corruption inquiries against officers of SI rank and above, and cases will not be sent back to districts in order to eliminate influence. If necessary, old closed complaints will be reopened. Complaints related to investigation will be assigned to SP rank officers, and the monitoring of departmental actions will be carried out by the Central Police Office.

The SOP also includes decisions to establish a new post of AIG Inquiries, to prioritize postings against vacant positions of Regional SPs and DSPs, to grant financial and budgetary autonomy to the IAB, and to include Special Branch intelligence in the accountability process, while a weekly report on implementation will be submitted to the Central Police Office.
